Proto Language Relationship with Mandailing Language

This study aims to examine the kinship of Proto language with Mandailing language. research uses qualitative and quantitative methods. Qualitative method by grouping languages according their level kinship. The is carried out using lexicostatistics techniques. Data collection techniques used in form recording data this basic vocabulary which contains a list 200 Swadesh vocabularies. (1) Identical pairs have 35 (2) Pairs Have Phonemic Correspondence Mandailing, there are 2 (3) Phonetic similarities between (4) One different phoneme has 16 overall similarity vocabularies from can be concluded that 55 or about 28%. That is, percentage two indicates belong same family.
